RE: Bomb blasts in India's high-tech hub kill two
That's an interesting question. I haven't heard of any other similarities, have you? How many bombs went off in Turkey and was it the same sort of synchronized situation as in India? Usually terrorist groups come forward and claim responsibility quickly.

RE: Cuba Bans Lift on Home Computers
Don't certain countries like China have extremely restricted Internet? I don't know how effective it is to regulate. But, really, this explains a lot. I was wondering why where wasn't an Amazon Cuba and why I don't have any Cuban friends on MySpace.

RE: Rush comments on black president
Isn't that a common trap to fall into? Rush gets news whenever he's controversial (and he's not alone) so it's ultimately beneficial for him to be controversial and blunt and bold as much as possible. Maybe I'm naive, but I really don't believe that it's necessarily so calculated a move though ...

RE: murder vs mansluaghter
I think that one of the reasons that certain actions need to be punished is because of the consequences. If your actions, which were reckless or dangerous in anyway, snuff out an innocent life, then don't you deserve to be punished? A son or daughter or mother or father or brother or sister or ...

Hello all.
Back before the Internet, which means back before everyone had access to the Internet, I was connected to a small online community called the Great Lakes FreeNet. No pictures, of course, no video clips. All we coud do was e-mail and post to forums and debate. I was in junior high, but I ...

RE: Thatchers Funeral
I understand your annoyance, but can you really expect anything else? Her position dictates this sort of honor, and it's certainly not the first or even best example of wasteful government spending. If she didn't get a full state funeral, well, correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that be a huge ...

Iraq and 9/11
It boggles the mind, but do you realize that there are still people out there who believe that Saddam Huissen orchestrating the events of September 11? When debating the War in Iraq, I've heard numerous people say that we are there because of the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Well, there may be more ...

RE: Positive Discrimination
I agree full heartedly. Police departments are famous for being forced to meet quotas, and who do I really want on the street protecting me? Who do I want responding to the call if I'm in serious danger? The best person for the position, or the best minority candidate, or whatever? Obviously, the ...

Ice Age
Wow. Climate change. So funny that the impending ice age—ie global cooling—was all the rage thirty years ago. Shouldn't that balance out the current concern over global warming? Globarl warming + global cooling = Global balancedness! Right?

RE: Not what it appears to be.
Seriously, though, it's apples and oranges. All of the soldiers (and other military) who have joined up knew what their pay was going to be and knew that they were signing up during wartime. My wife was in Army for a year before being discharged due to a service related injury and there were plenty ...
