Political Stand:

Model

Post by garywoot »

Our nations political parties are bound and revolve around two concepts from the glorious Lakoff. The concept of the strict father, and the nurturing mother. Each is a different model of the family and the way the children are raised etc, moral order etc etc. (children being the citizens) And taking out the fact that you can be a literal strict father in your parenting, and a nurturing mother in your politics (Oh the glory of irrationality), my ultimate point being each model obviously contradicts itelf.. on several ocassions, particularly when it comes to 'controverstial issues'. So why follow it, why do we still continue to draw a fence and demand you stand on either side. Why won't a rise of moderates come into the polical system. An innate fear of compromise? I purpose we come up with a new model, for as just as we'd love to think our society has becomed bulkanized, it isn't so simple. There always has been and always will be overlap, be it political (or racial in reference to bulkinization) shouldn't we begin to recognize that fact?
