Facebook started out as a college phenomenon. A way for college students to keep in touch with their fellow students from across the country. Slowly but surely, Facebook has allowed more and more people on to their site. Starting with all the colleges, then high schools then slowly to anyone with an email address.

Now, not only is everyone allowed but Facebook is sharing your information with other internet sites. Beware the future of Facebook. Growing isn’t without pains and we can wonder, will another college student join Facebook now?

We all have friends who have kept off Facebook for their own reasons. Mainly privacy concerns, which makes sense. Now we have to wonder, as Facebook becomes a spinning wheel of people’s information, will anyone who isn’t on there join now?

We all love Facebook, it’s huge in college & very useful but outside of this use, does Facebook have a broader place in everyone’s life or will it simply die like myspace & livejournal?

It’s not that Facebook isn’t good on paper, it’s in execution we are starting to see the flaws. It might be a little like communism. When the world has nothing to hide then secrets will cease to exist. But like in communist Russia, simply because people have things does not mean they are content.

If anything when you try to make a uniform, one-side fits all box it causes revolution. So watch out Facebook, we college grads might be leaving the party quicker than you think….

Now what do you think? How does Facebook’s privacy settings affect your willingness to join or stay on Facebook as you enter the world of job interviews and background checks?
