Can Chavez make a play for head of OPEC?
Can Chavez make a play for head of OPEC?
If OPEC changes its standards on what is acceptable salable oil, Venezuela could move up to be the largest oil producing country in the world! Forget countries like Saudia Arabia which are actually seeing declining oil production. What do you think? Any change OPEC will change its regulations?

Hard to say what Venezuela will do. They are one of several countries with a loose cannon for a leader. (Again my opinion) I think OPEC will gouge as much oil money out of the market as they can. But they want to do anything they can to prevent real progress in alternative fuels. And if the oil goes high enough people will start looking for other ways.
