Britishgirl you can start taking driving lessons at this age. 17th was the age I couldn't wait to reach the most

At 17, I was already heading to the military....egad, that was in 1967.....by 1971....I was dodging bullets. Funniest part is, I learned to drive a jeep before I ever drove a car....lmao. I had my military drivers license long before I ever got my civilian license.

Drive a jeep before a car? Wasn't that tricky?
Here we have to be 17 before we can take driving lessons. However you can drive on private land at any age

Nay, not really, just getting use to the stick shift was a bit tricky. The 6x6 M35 Military Truck "duce and a half" was a real bugger to learn. That darn thing had more granny gears than I knew existed....forward and reverse....lol. Thank God, I never had to drive any in Nam. Just had to move a couple....lmao

Stick shift (Manual) is more common here then in the US.
Very few people I know drive a auto.

That's really the smart way to teach any new driver, with a stick shift. I'm guessing that probably half the US doesn't know how to drive a stick. Comes in real handy to keep people from borrowing your car...lol. My wife owns a 2005 Toyota Corolla LE and it's an automatic. My 1999 Chevy Silverado 4 X 4 is also an automatic. But only because it was the only one ready for me to take immediate delivery. Anything with a stick had to be ordered....lol.
Funny part about my wife's car is that it came with all the bells and whistles. Power windows and door locks, AM-FM-Cassette-CD-Radio, Tilt steering wheel, reclining bucket seats, air conditioner, 4 wheel disc anti-lock brakes, map lights, vanity mirrors behind the sun visors, hell it's even got a plug in for her cell phone and a caddy. But the one thing it lacks is- cruise control, it's not standard on Toyota Corollas...lmao

Heh, Not high enough demand for them I guess
Everything but cruise control, but wheres the traction control?
