So this is a debate that has been going on for such a long time in the UK.
In the past couple of years it has been reclassified twice it is now a class B drug when it used to be a class C drug.
Parties such as THE GREEN PARTY in the UK want to legalise cannabis they say it's a good pain killer and doesn't do that much harm.
While other parties argue the mental and Psychological effect it has on you can have on you and other health risks make it to dangerous to ever be legalised.
I personally think that it should remain illegal however I have my issues with the subject as I think all medicine especially those that help with mental health issues can have a huge psychological impact on a person.
Therefore I would say that it makes Cannabis less of a concern to me.
However in the interest of public health we should eliminate anything that could be a risk to our health.
So I still stick with my personal opinion that the drug should remain illegal.
Cannabis
RE: Cannabis
I really see no reason it should be illegal. It's no worse than alcohol. I'd never use it, because I value my mind and my control too much, but I don't see what we gain by making it illegal.
If it was just available behind a counter with restricted access, then people would buy some legally. It wouldn't be any different than someone buying a six pack and drinking it over the weekend. The government could make a pretty penny off of the tax, focus spending on the bigger issues of cocaine cartels, and free up the overpopulation in the jail.
It's just an old holdout from an older time.

RE: Cannabis
Cannabis causes mental diseases and addiction. Smoking cannabis is not like smoking tobacco (Unfortunately many people think otherwise). Cannabis is more dangerous than you people think. It should remain illegal.
Enough of (ZA)Nu Labor. BNP is the only real alternative.

RE: Cannabis
on my opinion it should be illegal. They develop an addiction and are not healthful.
though many people think it in another way..
but this is the right way..and i think it should remain illegal, atleast for public safety.

Exactly.. it is really unfortunate that some of the Hollywood movies (for example Pineapple Express starring Seth Rogan) portray this dangerous habit as quite normal.

RE: Cannabis
Canabis SHOULD be legalised.
It being illegal is doing no good whatsoever. By prohibiting the purchase and use of canabis, all that happens is that money that could potentially utilised to great effect by the goverment through taxes is taken from them and thrown into the hands of criminals. This then leads to increases in other areas of crime.
I am not debating that canabis is harmful - it is known to be 4 times more carcinogenic than tobacco, but there are many legal things that are equally if not more harmful than canabis; alcohol, tobacco and saturated fat notably.
Yes, canabis is a harmful drug. No, it should not remain illegal.

RE: Cannabis
I support the legalization of cannibis, for various reasons.
People that smoke cannabis rarely get agressive but its a behaviour thats easy to spot in people that drink alcohol or do chemichal drugs (designer drugs). - So I would prefer that alcohol became illegal due to stupid acts/crimes that is commited under the intoxicated mind, and with the patetic excuse - I was drunk, I didn´t know what I was doing. WRONG!
Alcohol and hard drugs do more damage that cannabis!

The drinkers say the dope does more damage. And the dope gang says it is the drinking that does more damage. Does anyone really have to do either one?

Ah, but the science gang says that alcohol is more damaging.
And by the way, tobacco is much more harmful and a thousand times more addictive than cannabis. If you soak a tobacco leaf in water for a couple days, it's literally lethal. It's because tobacco contains nicotine, which is a poison that plants use to defend themselves against herbivorous grazers. As is cyanide, by the way, but that's stored in the seedlings so let's not get into that. And nicotine is the addictive stuff. I'll just leave it open by saying that cannabis doesn't have any nicotine. Plus, it's benefit is that it's a mild painkiller. Economically, it'd be good because it adds an extra armament to the pharmaceutical industry. We'd be cutting out the dealers who cut so much **** into it, which would increase national health and, in the case of you guys in America, relieve the health insurance industry. In a European context, save money spent on the health service and apply it to industrial projects. That'd help the economy.

I know something about tobacco. My family raised it for over 60 years. No I don't smoke. I also know something about drinking. I am 58 years old and took my first drink at 13. So I am no stranger there. Never got it from anyone's book.
Tobacco gets much more toxic after the farmers put the chemicals on it. Then the tobacco companys play with it to make it more addictive. Really smart people would never drink, smoke, or do drugs. They may not live longer, but it would seem longer.
